All the many elements were nicely balanced and engaging. They're the sweetest, cutest couple ever and I luffs them. Awesome job on the BDSM elements, and the end was perfect. This was great love story that wrapped together so many elements in a smooth way it just made sense. I love the fact that the main character is a psychologist and former marine and the man he's helping is a federal agent. I wasn't too sure how the BDSM was going to tie in but Kirby made it work. The threat against these men seemed so vile that you can't help but cheer for Grant and Matty. I hope there is a second one!! Excellent new series, exciting,, suspenseful and thoroughly engrossing. The mystery and intrigue keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next. The almost instant connection between Matty and Grant was hot. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I am ready for more I did want little more action but it was still good! This book was better than expected but not amazing. It was just okay. The writing here was immaculate and so descriptive, from the beautiful coastal location to the snark-filled bantering between all the characters I loved Uncle Sam. The romance is sweet and sexy and the plot choc-full of suspense from the off, and it's also told in third person dual POV, my personal preference. Grant and Matty were both really engaging characters, each trying to deal with their own issues from the past, Matty obviously more so, since he's a criminal profiler with the FBI who was duped by his now imprisoned ex-lover who turned out to be a professional assassin. Traumatised by these events and currently on leave, Matty’s been coerced by the bureau to receive an unofficial psychiatric evaluation to assess his mental welfare to determine whether he's fit to return to work and to ultimately find out if he perhaps knew more about his lover’s crimes than he's letting on?
Enter Grant, a former marine and psychologist, who’s been tasked with the job. These guys are drawn to one another like a moth to a flame, with Matty's vulnerable state and obvious submissive tendencies igniting Grant’s protective and possessive Dom traits. And although Matty is sexually submissive and responds to a dominant male, believe me, he's no needy or insipid sub. He's strong and he challenges Grant. His need to be owned by and please his lover just fits so perfectly with Grant’s desire to not only dominate but his deep-seated need to cherish and care for his man. Yep, when the barriers finally come down, these two SIZZLE! And if you're squicked by the BDSM element, I really wouldn't let that deter you here, as some light bondage, spanking and some VERY dirty talk and dirtier sex, is about as kinky as this one gets.
Overall, a riveting read, where an exciting showdown with the baddy melds nicely with a very romantic start of a HEA for our leads. I'm intrigued as to what or who book two will focus on – Max and Angel perhaps? Although I definitely want a little more of these guys in there regardless. That said, I'm morbidly fascinated by the Kill Devil and what his next move will be is it wrong that I have a teensy bit of a crush on him? – I do love me a bad boy. This book is about two deeply flawed individuals, one suffering from PTSD, one who can't seem to stay professional when he's attracted to his "patient". Strangely enough a large part of why I didn't like this book is the twin sister. I hate her character so much it infected the entire story for me. I think the author was going for gritty and real but what I got was annoying and frustrating. Oh well, you can't like them all. I enjoyed this book, it wasn't over the top, but if you enjoy BDSM it is very light on, although they touch it. Grant is sex on legs, but Matty is gorgeous, and they way he gives himself over, just yum We all know I'm a sucker for law enforcement in any and all permutations.

The mystery and intrigue keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next. The almost instant connection between Matty and Grant was hot. I can't wait for the next book in this series. What dangers will they face next? What will the Kill Devil have in store for them? Where will Matty and Grant's love lead them? I loved this book. I am ready for more I did want little more action but it was still good! This book was better than expected but not amazing. It was just okay. The plot had good legs but it could of been more realistic in it's development. This book has good character development and plotting. An enjoyable read! See all reviews. The writing here was immaculate and so descriptive, from the beautiful coastal location to the snark-filled bantering between all the characters I loved Uncle Sam. The romance is sweet and sexy and the plot choc-full of suspense from the off, and it's also told in third person dual POV, my personal preference. Grant and Matty were both really engaging characters, each trying to deal with their own issues from the past, Matty obviously more so, since he's a criminal profiler with the FBI who was duped by his now imprisoned ex-lover who turned out to be a professional assassin.
